The Mission

The Mission of the SOCFRC is to provide education, support and resources to enhance the process of family growth through the development of skills that promote health, self-sufficiency, increase quality of life and foster a sense of community.

South Orange County Family Resource Center Collaborative History

The SOCFRC Collaborative was established in 1996 as a result of a Community Health Needs Assessment from Mission Hospital, indicating the need for parenting education, resources and support among the South Orange County Community. The original members of the collaborative, Children's Bureau of Southern California, Community Services Programs, Inc. Mission Hospital, The Raise Foundation (formerly known as the Prevent Child Abuse of Orange County) and the Junior League of Orange County, California, Inc., applied for and received the Families and Communities Together (FaCT) grant. Human Options became a collaborative partner in 2010.

FaCT is a partnership between the County of Orange Social Services Agency and Orangewood Children's Foundation. They provide support and services to children and families through community-based collaboratives operating family resource centers. FaCT provides support through program development and administration, funding, and training.
